Taking the United States for example, there are over 500,000 bad debt lawsuits every year, about 4% of which are from Chinese companies. What makes the commercial debt collection difficult for Chinese companies? Most of the exporters have even never been to the United States before, not to mention know anything about the confusing laws in different states. And for most Chinese law firms, commercial debt collection in a foreign country is normally beyond their ability. They have to turn to a foreign partner for collaboration, which consequently makes the collection longer and cost higher. In China debt collection is also usually associated with something negative, such as litigation and losing future potential business clients.
